What the calculators do

Each calculator is arithmetic applied to figures you type in. It assumes a constant rate of return, which no real investment delivers, and it states its assumptions on the page so you can see what it has taken for granted. Treat the output as a way of understanding the shape of a decision, not as a projection of what will happen.

Calculators do not account for exit loads, transaction costs, or changes in tax law, unless the page says otherwise.

Tax

Tax treatment depends on your circumstances and on rules that change. Anything we say about tax is our understanding of the position at the review date shown, and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified tax professional.

Insurance

Insurance cover, exclusions, waiting periods and claim outcomes are determined by the policy document issued by the insurer, not by anything summarised here. Read the policy wording before you rely on cover.

Scheme documents

Before investing in a mutual fund scheme, please read the Scheme Information Document, the Statement of Additional Information and the Key Information Memorandum for that scheme. Those documents, not this website, define what you are buying.
